Complete Guide to Fix VirtualBox Errors While Installing macOS Mojave

While installing macOS Mojave on Virtualbox on Windows 10, users are facing different types of error. But one of the most common error while Installing macOS Mojave on VirtualBox is mouse and keyboard. Once the Apple logo goes away, the mouse and keyword board won’t work. There are also some other questions which I combined here, so everyone gets their answers.

Please make sure, this post will be updated as soon as we found answers to other questions too.

Fix VirtualBox Errors While Installing macOS Mojave

Q 1. Mouse and Keyword are not working while Installing macOS Mojave on VirtualBox

Answer: To Fix this error you need to Install the Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Packafter installation Open macOS Virtual machine settings, select tab “USB”, then enable USB 3.0.

Q 2.  I’m getting a black screen EXC_Resourse-> exceeded mem limit: InactiveSoft 50MB (non-fatal) It fails after this and this restarts and the same thing happens what should I do?

Answer: To fix this error close VirtualBox properly before running the commands.

Q 3: When I try to add the code VBoxManage.exe modifyvm “macOS 10.14 Mojave” –chipuidset I’m getting an error Could not find a registered machine named ‘macOS 10.14 Mojave’

Answer: To fix this error, insert the same virtual machine name while creating the VM in the codes.

Q 4: I want to create bootable USB For mac in Windows with VirtualBox. But I m stuck, I can’t copy the macOS Mojave. dmg to Virtual Box, drag and Drop is not working too. I also tried the sharing files, but again it didn’t answer. So, please do you know how to enable copy and paste or drag and drop?

Answer: Copy your data to USB flash and mount this USB to VirtualBox.

Q 5: Stuck at Gray Screen while Installing macOS Mojave

Answer: Open the created virtual machine in VirtualBox, change Guest Version to Other 64bit, select tab “Storage” and enable “Use Host I/O Cache”.

I recently noticed some of the users don’t know to change the Guest Version, so follow the below steps:

  • Open settings of the created Virtual Machine.
  • On the General Tab, Find Version and change the Guest Version From 64 Bit to other 64 Bit Version.
  • And Host I/O Cache is located in the storage tab, just enable it from their.

Q 6: I am getting the error while I try to start: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine macOS 10.14 Mojave.

VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes (VERR_VMX_MSR_ALL_VMX_DISABLED).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

Answer: Enable Intel VT-x in BIOS help you fix this problem.

Q 7: Hi, I’m stuck in a grey screen with a mouse, I was waiting like 30 minutes until something happened, but, nothing. I only can move the mouse and that.

Answer: Change your Guest Version to Other 64bit, select tab Storage and enable “Use Host I/O Cache”.

Q 8: I have no sound in system preferences it normally shows internal speakers but there is no input-output device. I am using host driver as Windows DirectSound and controller as IntelHDAudio plz help.

Answer: To fix this error, you have to install the  Voodoohda kext, However, I have explained this part on the Post How to Install macOS Mojave on Hackintosh with detailed.

Q 9: It does not work for me when I start the VM it just says, for example, Start ProssesOptions and right after that it says End ProssesOptions and so on with a few different Things until it stops at End RandomSeed.

after installing everything, and making it work, am stuck in the system…
I cant do anything because Finder doesnt works, so, I cant mount anything or open any folder or browse files. also, the machine eventually just crashes with critical errors. I think I need another vmdisk, am using file: mojabe 10.14 by wikigain.vmdk
is there any other you may suggest ?

Whenever i try to click on the USB settings, the mouse pointer disappears from the Guest machine. I have already added the extension pack, it doesn’t seem to work.

I get this error, using same name as created VM. Help.

Also, I found changing to macOS 10.8 helped 😉

Hello guys, could you help me with this as well? I have everything running nice and smooth until there is “less than a minute left” and then it goes down with a “boot failed”. Anyone could have an idea why is this occuring?

Audio does not work in VirtualBox. Please help me. I followed the tutorial from (How to Install macOS Mojave on Hackintosh), but no success.

ps.: May I use a Apple ID in this virtual machine? I have a ID because I had a Ipod.
