Apple’s long-running (PRODUCT)RED lineup has officially come to an end, with the last remaining item—the iPhone 14 Silicone Case in (PRODUCT)RED—recently marked as sold out on its online store.
Since 2006, Apple has partnered with the (RED) initiative to support The Global Fund, helping raise awareness and funding to fight diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in Africa. Over the years, Apple offered (PRODUCT)RED versions of several devices and accessories, but that color option has now disappeared entirely from its lineup.
That said, this may not be the permanent end of red-themed products at Apple. Reports suggest the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a new “deep red” finish. However, this shade is expected to be more muted—closer to burgundy than the vibrant (PRODUCT)RED tone many users are familiar with—leaving uncertainty about whether Apple will ever revive the charity-branded color specifically.
For now, the (PRODUCT)RED era appears paused rather than officially revived or replaced.
(RED) was co-founded by Bono, and Apple’s partnership with the initiative dates back to the era of Steve Jobs. While the (PRODUCT)RED branding has now been phased out for Apple hardware, the broader collaboration between Apple and (RED) is still ongoing.
Apple continues to support The Global Fund through its annual Apple Pay donation program, which reportedly raised around $3 million last year. This means that although (PRODUCT)RED products are no longer part of Apple’s lineup for now, the charitable partnership itself remains active.
Over the years, Apple released a wide range of (PRODUCT)RED devices, including iPod, iPhone, and Apple Watch models. Some of the most recent examples include the iPhone SE (3rd generation), iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and the Apple Watch Series 9. In addition to devices, Apple also offered a variety of accessories such as iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands in the signature red finish.
While the branding may be gone for now, Apple’s history with (PRODUCT)RED shows it could still return in some form in the future.
