The upcoming Hyperwired was recently showcased during FGS Live From GDC, following the Future Games Show Spring Showcase.
In Hyperwired, your ship is equipped with a giant trailing plug—a core mechanic that lets you connect to power sockets to recharge weapons and systems. While being plugged in grants access to incredible firepower, it also tethers you to one spot, creating intense risk-versus-reward scenarios in the midst of swarming enemies.
Players can upgrade their arsenal across over 40 upgrades and more than 250 bullet modifier combinations, from homing rockets and explosive bullets to scorching laser beams that can carve new paths through procedurally generated sectors. The game also features a rechargeable slow-motion system for tactical maneuvering, and rescuing stranded pilots allows you to build an allied fleet to help tackle massive end-of-galaxy bosses.
Hyperwired is set to release in Summer 2026 on PC via Steam, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. Fans can follow Selecta Play on X and Instagram for updates.
