Features and Functionality

Ok, let’s see what this app is packing. Cleaner Kit isn’t just a simple storage cleaner—it comes loaded with features beyond basic file deletion. From smart cleaning to security tools, it aims to cover all aspects of iPhone optimization. Here’s a breakdown of what it offers:

  • :broom: Smart cleaning for photos and videos. The app automatically detects and sorts photos and videos into categories like similar, duplicates, screenshots, blurred, and with text. This makes it easy to remove unnecessary files without scrolling through your entire gallery.

  • :robot: AI-powered sorting. Cleaner Kit categorizes media into People, Animals, Nature, Home, Vehicles, Urban, Devices, Sports, Food, Tools, Clothes, Hobbies, Docs, and Other. This AI-driven approach helps users quickly find and manage their files without guesswork.

  • :locked: Secret Space for private files. For those who want extra privacy, the app includes a Secret Space where you can securely store sensitive photos, videos, and contacts, keeping them hidden from prying eyes.

  • :movie_camera: Video compression. Instead of deleting large videos, you can use the video compressor to reduce file sizes while maintaining quality. This is especially useful for saving space without losing important clips.

  • :tear_off_calendar: Calendar cleanup. Old and unnecessary events clutter up calendars over time. Cleaner Kit helps clear outdated appointments and reminders, keeping your schedule organized.

  • :high_voltage: Charging screen customization. The app adds a custom charging screen, letting you personalize animations and effects when plugging in your iPhone.

  • :globe_with_meridians: Internet speed test and widgets. Cleaner Kit includes an internet speed test to check Wi-Fi and mobile data performance. It also offers home screen widgets for quick access to storage stats and system performance.

  • :shield: Security and system monitoring. Beyond storage cleanup, the app includes tools to check your iPhone’s RAM usage, CPU performance, Wi-Fi speed, and update status. This provides a complete picture of your device’s health.

Verdict. As you can see, in terms of features, it’s a winner. Cleaner Kit packs a well-rounded set of tools. From AI-powered photo sorting to privacy protection and system monitoring, it covers all the essentials and then some. It’s rare to see an iPhone cleaner that offers this much functionality in one app.

It gets an easy 5 out of 5 from us in this department. Of course, the quantity of features isn’t everything—what really matters is how well they work. We’ll dig into their quality and performance later, but for now, it’s looking good. Cleaner Kit checks all the boxes when it comes to functionality.

Interface

Now, let’s see if the interface lives up to the same high standard.

The design is visually attractive, featuring pleasant colors and a compact layout that gives the app a modern and polished feel. Navigating through menus is smooth, and standard gestures—like swiping to minimize or go back—function as expected. Nevertheless, while the app looks appealing, it isn’t without flaws.

One issue we observed is the lack of distinct boundaries between different functional blocks. This can make the interface feel somewhat cluttered, especially for new users. Adding more separation between sections could enhance clarity.

We also found the group display less than ideal. When browsing photos, the app organizes them into groups, but it doesn’t offer a compact preview of all images within a group. If a group has many photos, you end up scrolling endlessly. Providing a way to preview multiple photos at once would significantly improve the experience.

This is definitely something the developer should address in a future update. A more intuitive layout and a compact group preview would greatly enhance usability.

Verdict. It earns a 4 out of 5 in the looks department. As mentioned, the interface is visually appealing, but a few issues prevent it from achieving a perfect score. If the developers improve layout clarity and introduce a better way to preview grouped photos, the interface could easily reach 5 out of 5 in the future.

Cleanup Results

To evaluate Cleaner Kit’s effectiveness, we tested it on an iPhone belonging to one of our team members. The device contained a variety of files—thousands of photos, duplicate videos, screenshots, and cluttered contacts—essentially, a real-world mess typical of any iPhone after months (or years) of regular use.

Not everyone has time to sort files manually, so an automatic cleanup feature is essential. If an app lacks it, that’s an immediate 0 points in our book. Cleaner Kit does offer automatic cleanup, and it performs well, earning a full 5 points in this category.

How much space did It free up? Cleaner Kit identified a huge amount of storage waste on our test iPhone:

  • Similar photos: 3,922 images (21.3 GB)

  • Similar videos: 95 videos (10.6 GB)

  • Total cleanup potential: 4,145 items (32.2 GB!)

We were particularly impressed by the “best photo” selection feature. Cleaner Kit correctly identified the best photo from a group about 95% of the time, even in cases where shots were similar but had subtle differences. It handled complex shots well and made solid choices in terms of lighting, focus, and composition.

The Similar Video feature also performed better than expected. Unlike other apps that often struggle with detecting near-identical videos, Cleaner Kit successfully grouped truly similar videos—a level of accuracy we rarely see in other iPhone cleaners.

Verdict. Cleaner Kit delivers on its promises. The automatic cleanup works, the AI-powered selection is impressively accurate, and it effectively frees up significant storage. That said, there is room for improvement. Some photos were classified as similar despite having different subjects, poses, or lighting conditions. In rare instances, a group contained a photo with an object and another where the object was missing. While these issues aren’t dealbreakers, they indicate the AI could use some fine-tuning.

Despite these minor issues, we decided to award it a full 5 out of 5. A 4 would be too low, and we don’t like using decimals like 4.7, so 5 it is.

Scan Speed

Now, let’s talk about scan speed—how fast is it? Unfortunately, this is where Cleaner Kit falls short.

The scanning process is slow. It took 5 minutes and 8 seconds to complete a scan on our test iPhone, which is considerably longer than some competing apps. Five minutes may not seem too bad, but for iPhones with hundreds of gigabytes of files, the wait could be much longer. Users with massive photo libraries or years of stored videos may experience extended scan times.

On the plus side, the scan continues uninterrupted if you switch apps or lock the screen, which isn’t always the case with other cleaners.

Verdict. Scan speed is the app’s biggest drawback. While cleanup results are excellent, slow scanning diminishes the overall experience. We give it a 2 out of 5.

Pricing and Free Version

Cleaner Kit is free to download, but like most cleanup apps, many features require a paid subscription. In-app purchases range from $4.99 to $6.99, depending on the subscription plan. The app does allow free cleanup in exchange for watching ads—you can delete 20 files per ad. To clean up 3,922 files, you’d need to watch ads 197 times, which is quite tedious.

On the bright side, almost every feature is accessible after watching an ad, so the choice essentially comes down to paying with your wallet or paying with your patience. A few ads for small cleanups are fine, but attempting to free up gigabytes of storage quickly becomes exhausting.

Verdict. Cleaner Kit is worth the price. However, some users may find the free version limiting. While it technically allows cleanup without payment, watching hundreds of ads to clear an entire library is far from practical. For this reason, we’re giving 5/5 for value in the paid version, but only 3/5 for the free tier due to its impractical limitations. This brings the final score for this section to 4 out of 5.

Final Score

Let’s wrap up with our overall rating—how does Cleaner Kit stack up?

Breakdown of scores:

  • :star: Features & Functionality: 5/5 – Packed with tools that actually work.

  • :artist_palette: Interface: 4/5 – Visually appealing, but navigation could improve.

  • :wastebasket: Cleanup Results: 5/5 – Highly effective at freeing up space.

  • :hourglass_not_done: Scan Speed: 2/5 – Too slow for our liking.

  • :money_bag: Pricing & Free Version: 4/5 – Paid version is worth it; free tier is limited.

Combining all the scores gives an average final rating of 4 out of 5.

Cleaner Kit is a well-rounded iPhone cleaner that outperforms many competitors. It’s feature-rich and accurate. The main drawbacks are slow scan speeds and the limitations of the free version, but if you’re willing to pay for premium features and don’t mind waiting for scans, it’s a top-tier choice.
