F1 2026 Uncovered: Red Bull Quick Out the Blocks with Updates

1. Front Floor & Keel

  • Keel section altered to improve airflow under the chassis.

  • Spine-style baffle now hides the bib stay (previously a separate fairing).

  • Floor fences taller and less tilted for better airflow management and stability.

Effect: Improves front-end downforce and floor efficiency, aiding cornering grip.

2. Deflector Array

  • New dual baffle flaps on the lower half of the secondary skyscraper element.

  • Revised bracket system to integrate with floor.

  • Slat ratios and trailing edge shapes adjusted for smoother airflow and reduced turbulence.

Effect: Helps manage airflow along the floor to rear diffuser, improving aerodynamic efficiency and reducing wake for following cars.

3. Engine Cover & Cooling

  • Redesigned engine cover with a more linear top deck vs. flared “nostril” design used in Bahrain.

  • Updated cooling louvres and rear cooling arrangement for better thermal management.

Effect: Keeps temperatures optimal while minimizing drag penalty from larger cooling openings.

Overall Goal

  • Maximise aerodynamic efficiency under new 2026 regulations.

  • Improve car balance and cornering performance.

  • Enhance reliability and reduce turbulence impacting following cars, crucial under the new rules with active aero and energy management.
