iPhone 18 Pro’s Smaller Dynamic Island Revealed

New images reportedly showing an alleged iPhone 18 Pro prototype, along with matching screen protectors, have surfaced from multiple sources, lending further credibility to earlier rumors that Apple is planning a noticeable redesign of the Dynamic Island.

The leaked materials suggest a smaller front cutout area compared to current models, reinforcing speculation that Apple may be working toward reducing the size of the Dynamic Island as part of its next-generation iPhone design changes expected later this year.

While the images have not been verified by Apple, they align with prior reports indicating that the company is exploring ways to make the front display area less intrusive while maintaining Face ID and front camera functionality.

New images shared online by multiple sources suggest that Apple may be preparing a notable redesign for the iPhone 18 Pro, with a particular focus on a significantly smaller Dynamic Island.

An X user known as @earlyappleleaks recently posted an image allegedly showing a prototype device with a reduced front cutout. In the photo, a light source is used to reveal what appears to be a small circular punch-hole beneath the display area, which some speculate could be a relocated Face ID component. If accurate, this would align with expectations that Apple is gradually moving parts of the TrueDepth camera system under the display, allowing for a smaller Dynamic Island.

However, the source behind this leak is unverified and has no established track record, meaning the image should be treated cautiously.

Separately, well-known leaker Ice Universe has shared images of alleged iPhone 18 Pro screen protectors that show much smaller cutouts than current models. These accessory leaks appear to support the idea of a reduced Dynamic Island, and similar images have been circulating on Chinese social media.

Additional claims from other leakers suggest the Dynamic Island could shrink by as much as 35% compared to the iPhone 17 Pro. The appearance of third-party accessories at this stage is also being interpreted by some as a sign that supply chain partners may be preparing for a revised design.

That said, there is still some disagreement among sources, with a few reports questioning whether such a change is finalized. Still, the overall trend of leaks has increasingly pointed toward a smaller front display cutout across future models.

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to launch alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone later this year, with the standard iPhone 18 model reportedly following in a separate launch cycle the following year as part of a staggered release strategy.
