Background: The Orville first aired in 2017 on Fox, with season 2 following soon after. Season 3 arrived after a three-year gap. Fans can expect Captain Mercer and the USS Orville crew back on the bridge when production begins.

Details: Season 2 follows a young John (Max Burkholder) and Ted, MacFarlane’s foul-mouthed bear. An animated version has been hinted at but not confirmed.

“There are no direct plans” for Ted season 3.

- Family Guy Movie: Concept has been planned for 15 years, but production is on hold due to MacFarlane’s schedule.
So in short: The Orville may return when MacFarlane finds the time, Ted likely ends with season 2, and the Family Guy movie remains on the backburner.
