Places to Visit in Tennessee When it Snows

Naturally, you’ll want to make the best of your holiday during the snowy season.

So, what are a few things to do in Nashville TN when it snows? Well, firstly, you simply have to visit Percy Warner Park.

The park is beautiful enough as it is during summer. So, can you imagine the spectacle that you’ll see during winter?

It will feel as if you’ve walked into a movie. You’ll be surrounded by trees that are laden with snow.

Just don’t expect to see too many animals since most of them will be hibernating. So, at least you won’t run into any bears!

Another great place to visit when it snows is Radnor Lake, State Park. This is another scenic experience that you won’t soon forget.

During winter, the park is filled with snow. It even has a lake which makes the whole park look like a fairytale.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to swim in the lake. The water temperature will be extremely low if the lake hasn’t frozen over.

That means that your body could go into shock if you jump in too quickly. Hypothermia and frostbite also aren’t out of the question.

So, rather bring along some warm clothes and snow boots to explore the variety of hiking trails that the park has available.

If you’re looking to see beautiful architecture while having the option of hiding from the cold, you can also head over to Historic Rock Castle.

The castle was built in the 18th century. It has since been turned into a museum. When snow falls on the castle it is truly a sight to behold.

The beautiful architectural structure mixed with snow looks fairy-tale-like. Walking into the castle will make you feel like an ice queen!

Another must-visit is Lookout Mountain. From the top, you’ll enjoy breathtaking bird’s-eye views of snow-covered mountains and forests stretching out below. Bring your snowshoes and explore the hiking trails, but don’t forget a warm scarf, coat, and gloves—the higher you climb, the colder it gets!

Sunset Rock

For history buffs, Sunset Rock offers a unique combination of scenic beauty and Civil War history. Hike up to the lookout to take in expansive views of open fields and forests, all dusted with snow. Unlike Lookout Mountain, here you’ll be standing in an area that once witnessed historical battles, giving your snowy adventure a fascinating twist.
