Apple has quietly lowered the price of its high-end professional display when configured with the VESA mount adapter, reducing the cost by $400 across select models.
The configuration previously priced at $3,299 now costs $2,899, while the nano-texture version with VESA mount support has dropped from $3,599 to $3,199.
The adjustment applies to the company’s premium professional display lineup, including configurations of the Apple Pro Display XDR with VESA mounting support. While Apple has not made a formal announcement about the price change, the updated pricing is now reflected on its online store.
The reduction effectively brings a modest discount to one of Apple’s highest-end display offerings, particularly for users opting for VESA-mounted workstation setups rather than the standard stand.
Apple has also adjusted the purchasing flow on its website for the Apple Pro Display XDR, changing the configuration order so that the stand selection now comes before the glass finish options.
When the display originally launched, both stand configurations were priced at $3,299, which drew criticism from some buyers who felt the pricing was inconsistent. The VESA mount adapter, essentially a flat metal plate designed for monitor arms or wall mounting, was priced the same as the height- and tilt-adjustable stand, despite offering fewer features.
In contrast, most professional displays—including Apple’s own earlier configurations of the Pro Display XDR—typically price VESA mount options lower than fully adjustable stands. The recent adjustment brings Apple’s pricing structure more in line with that industry norm.
By separating and reordering configuration choices, Apple appears to be clarifying the value differences between stand types while making the purchasing process more consistent with expectations for professional display hardware.
The standard Apple Studio Display has not received any similar price adjustment. Both the tilt-adjustable stand and VESA mount configurations of the non-XDR model remain priced at $1,599.
However, the pricing structure has long been considered somewhat balanced between the two options, as the tilt-adjustable stand is typically viewed as roughly equivalent in value to the VESA mount adapter.
Refunds for early buyers
In an update, Apple is reportedly offering refunds to customers who purchased affected configurations prior to the recent pricing changes, according to reader reports.
