Yoast SEO’s New Schema Aggregator Enhances Entity Disambiguation

Yoast SEO Launches Schema Aggregation to Improve Entity Disambiguation

Yoast SEO has introduced a Schema Aggregation feature in version 27.1 that consolidates all structured data on a WordPress site into a single, connected representation. The goal is to make your site’s content more readable and usable for AI systems.

Coherent Entity Disambiguation

Previously, structured data was output on a page-by-page basis, meaning AI crawlers had to reconstruct relationships between authors, articles, products, and organizations by crawling multiple pages.

With Schema Aggregation, Yoast now provides a schemamap endpoint that:

  • Aggregates all indexable content in one place.

  • Removes duplicate entities to prevent confusion.

  • Preserves relationships (e.g., author → articles, organization → products).

  • Respects privacy and indexing settings.

  • Responds quickly with sub‑100ms cached results, even for large sites.

This allows AI systems to ingest the full entity graph efficiently rather than reconstructing it from individual pages.

Key Benefits

  • Complete: Includes all indexable content.

  • Clean: Eliminates duplicate entities and navigation clutter.

  • Connected: Maintains relationships between entities.

  • Compliant: Honors existing privacy rules.

  • Fast: Low-latency, cached endpoint responses.

Alex Moss, Principal SEO at Yoast, explained:

“…an agent no longer needs to crawl all individual pages to understand its meaning but can now ingest an entire entity map with ease.”

Integration With NLWeb

Yoast’s Schema Aggregation also aligns with Microsoft’s NLWeb project, which standardizes how websites expose structured data for AI systems. NLWeb leverages Schema.org, RSS, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) to make websites AI-readable for natural language interfaces.

NLWeb provides tools and open protocols that help websites implement conversational endpoints, enabling both human users and AI agents to access structured site data more efficiently.

How to Enable

The feature is opt-in:

  1. Update to Yoast SEO 27.1.

  2. Log in to WordPress and follow the guided walkthrough.

  3. Toggle the Schema Aggregation endpoint on.

Once enabled, your site exposes a single, deduplicated, connected schema map accessible to AI agents.

Future-Proofing for AI

By consolidating and connecting structured data, Yoast’s Schema Aggregation:

  • Provides a clearer representation of relationships between content, authors, products, and organizations.

  • Reduces duplication and ensures entity disambiguation.

  • Prepares your site for AI-driven search, agentic retrieval, and knowledge-based applications.

Additional Tools

Yoast is also rolling out a Schema Visualization Tool, allowing site owners to see how structured data is deployed across their website in a clear, visual format.

This feature is a significant step toward the agentic web, making sites easier for AI systems to crawl, understand, and use for search, recommendations, or conversational interfaces.
