Apple has been marking its upcoming 50th anniversary with a series of surprise events and performances around the world in recent weeks, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now reports that the company is planning a larger “grand finale” to close out the celebrations.
While Apple has not publicly detailed the full scope of the finale, Gurman’s report suggests it will serve as the culmination of the company’s global anniversary activities, which have included curated events designed to highlight Apple’s history and cultural impact ahead of its milestone date.
The 50th anniversary itself is expected on April 1, 2026, and the final celebration is likely to be positioned as the centerpiece of Apple’s year-long commemorative campaign.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations are set to conclude this week with a final event held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, primarily for employees.
Gurman indicated that the finale will include a special musical guest, hinting that Paul McCartney may be the headliner. He also suggested the performer has strong ties to the “British Invasion” era, noting that Steve Jobs would have been “ecstatic” about the choice.
The event appears to be internal rather than public-facing, with reports suggesting it will be limited to Apple employees and invited guests. It is unclear whether retail employees will be included.
As part of preparations, the Apple Park Visitor Center is reportedly closing early on March 31 at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. However, it remains unclear whether the celebration itself will take place on March 31 or align more closely with Apple’s official 50th anniversary on April 1, 2026.
