Apple has released the first developer beta of macOS Tahoe 26.5, arriving six days after the public launch of macOS Tahoe 26.4.
The early beta rollout continues Apple’s rapid update cycle for the macOS Tahoe branch, giving developers an initial look at the next incremental release for testing and feedback before its wider public release.
Developers can install the macOS Tahoe 26.5 beta through System Settings by navigating to General → Software Update, then enabling Beta Updates. A free developer account is required to access the download.
At this stage, Apple has not confirmed any major new features for the release, though there has been speculation that it could include early groundwork for Apple Intelligence Siri capabilities. However, recent reports suggest those Siri upgrades are more likely to arrive later, potentially aligned with iOS 27 rather than this update.
For now, access is limited to developers, but Apple is expected to expand testing with a public beta in the coming weeks, likely within one to two weeks after the developer release.
