With Mario Day approaching, one character is stealing the spotlight — Princess Rosalina. While excitement continues to build around the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie, another reason Rosalina fans have to celebrate is a brand-new controller inspired by the cosmic princess herself.
Accessory maker Hori has unveiled a new addition to its upcoming “Mario Universe” controller lineup for the Nintendo Switch 2. The highlight of the collection is a stunning Princess Rosalina-themed Wireless Horipad Turbo, bringing the beloved Super Mario Galaxy character into the accessory spotlight for the first time.
According to Hori, the Mario Universe line is expected to launch around March 27 in the UK. The lineup will include two Wireless Horipad Turbo controllers — one featuring Rosalina and another themed around Mario — along with a matching Switch 2 carrying case.
While the Rosalina controller is based on Hori’s existing Horipad Turbo design, its new artwork and cosmic aesthetic make it stand out. The controller features a fresh illustration of Rosalina floating through space with her iconic storybook, surrounded by swirling turquoise stars that match the soft blue-green tones of her dress. A beautiful purple gradient flows from the grips upward, capturing the deep, colorful atmosphere of outer space.
Beyond its looks, the controller also brings several technical upgrades. It includes TMR analog sticks that use electromagnetic technology, helping prevent the stick drift issues that plagued the original Switch Joy-Cons. Additional features include turbo functionality, motion (gyro) controls, programmable back buttons, and a button-lock system to avoid accidental presses.
For players who prefer Mario over Rosalina, the “Universe Mario” version offers the same features but replaces the Rosalina artwork with Mario-themed visuals and a turquoise color scheme with subtle translucency.
The Mario Universe accessory line will also include a Princess Rosalina Switch 2 Vault Case, arriving just ahead of the Super Mario Movie’s April 1 release.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but more details are expected soon. For fans of Rosalina and the Super Mario Galaxy series, this controller might be the most stylish way yet to celebrate Mario Day.
