Oscar Piastri – Australian GP 2026 Incident

What Happened

  • On the pre-race lap, Piastri lost control of his McLaren MCL40 at the exit of Turn 4.

  • He crashed heavily into the barrier, causing severe damage to the right-front corner of his car.

  • Piastri was unable to start the race, resulting in a DNS (Did Not Start).

  • McLaren CEO Zak Brown and team principal Andrea Stella were visibly distressed on the pit wall.
