Pokémon Fan Artist Alleges New Palworld Clone Pickmon “Stole One of My Designs,” Claiming “They Didn’t Even Try to Change Something and Make It a Bit Less Obvious

Pickmon, a “multiplayer open-world survival crafter” on Steam, is drawing major controversy for allegedly copying designs from both Nintendo’s Pokémon and Pocketpair’s Palworld—and now even from fan artists. Its monsters, gameplay, and general aesthetic are being called out as strikingly similar to existing Pokémon and Palworld creatures.

Several fan artists, including Elpsy and Jayjaymons, have posted side-by-side comparisons showing Pickmon’s creatures closely mirroring their personal designs, sometimes with barely any changes in color, pose, or details. Fans online are criticizing the studio for apparently making little effort to differentiate their creatures, with comments noting things like “the antennas literally line up perfectly.”

So far, the developer, PocketGame, hasn’t responded to these allegations. Between the Pokémon/Palworld similarities and claims of stolen fan art, many in the community are calling for the game to be taken down.
