The Acolyte Showrunner Reveals Yoda Would Have Covered Up Jedi Deaths, Citing Clone Wars Evidence

According to The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland, Yoda would have played a secretive role in future seasons of the show. After the first season’s finale—where Vernestra burned the body of Master Sol to cover up his death—Yoda was reportedly poised to comply with Vernestra’s cover-up and even leverage evidence from the Clone Wars era to justify it.

Headland pointed out that Yoda has a history of withholding information and bending rules in the Clone Wars timeline, so his potential complicity in Vernestra’s plans wouldn’t have been out of character. Unfortunately, with the show canceled after one season in August 2024, fans won’t see this storyline play out on-screen.

Essentially: Yoda’s tactical secrecy would have continued, aligning him with Vernestra to maintain order—or at least appearances—within the Jedi Order.
