These Super Mario Nendoroid Figures Deserve a Comeback, but SH Figuarts Re-Release Will Do

If you’re craving more chibi Mario in your life, Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid line is absolutely the gold standard. These little figures take Mario and Luigi and give them oversized heads, tiny bodies, and the signature “chibi” charm that makes them endlessly poseable and adorable. Their biggest appeal is interchangeable faces, limbs, and accessories, letting you recreate classic Mushroom Kingdom moments on a desk or shelf. Luigi’s got warp pipes, tiny Goombas, Bullet Bills, and clouds; Mario’s got coins, blocks, Boo ghosts, and Power-Up mushrooms. Combine them, and you basically get a miniature Mario stage.

The downside? Stock is notoriously limited. Each reprint sells out almost instantly in the US and UK, so grabbing them takes vigilance and a little luck—think Koopa-speed reflexes.

If you’re looking for more characters beyond Mario and Luigi, Bandai’s SH Figuarts line is a solid alternative. These aren’t as chibi-styled—they’re more accurately proportioned—but they have tons of articulation and accessories, plus Yoshi and Bowser, so you can recreate actual in-game action, like Mario riding Yoshi. They’re easier to find in stock and start around $42.99 at Best Buy.

In short: Nendoroids = max cuteness and charm, but tough to get. SH Figuarts = slightly less cute, but wider character selection and plentiful stock. If your shelves are ready for some Mushroom Kingdom chaos, either line will definitely satisfy your inner chibi collector.
