It Can’t Even Be Pokémon Minecraft, You Can’t Even Craft”: Pokopia Disappoints Co-Op Fans, as Switch 2 GameShare with Its Predecessor “Might as Well Not Exist

Pokopia’s multiplayer and GameShare features are proving to be a major disappointment for fans. While the game shines in single-player with its Animal Crossing–meets–Minecraft vibes, the co-op experience is severely limited.

Reddit users report that Switch 1 players in GameShare can barely do anything—they can’t change appearances, craft items, interact with Pokémon, open the Pokedex, or access story content. Essentially, the secondary player acts as a glorified assistant who can pick up objects, place a few blocks, and use the host’s unlocked skills. One fan summed it up bluntly: “0/10, stay far away if you want this game for co-op.”

The limitations mean that, despite the promise of four-player multiplayer and cross-generation GameShare, the majority of the game’s mechanics are inaccessible to anyone not on the host console. Fans are hoping Nintendo addresses this, but for now, Pokopia’s co-op is minimal at best and frustrating at worst.
