Legacy of the Dark Knight looks stuffed to bursting
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was highlighted at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase powered by HyperX, with TT Games’ Executive Producer Matt Ellison offering a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming superhero open-world adventure. One thing is clear: there are a lot of costumes for players to discover.
A celebration of all things Batman
Ellison described the game as a “celebration of all things Batman,” and the gameplay footage backs that up. Players can explore a variety of locations and enjoy references spanning DC lore—from 1992’s Batman Returns, to 2015’s Arkham Knight, to golden-age comics.
The playable roster includes Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman, Jim Gordon, and Talia Al-Ghul. While smaller than some previous Lego titles, each character brings unique abilities and progression paths, such as Jim Gordon wielding a foam gun.
Suits, suits, and more suits
A standout feature is the ability to collect 100 different suits for your characters, including Batman and Robin’s designs from the original 2008 Lego Batman game. According to Ellison, it’s “a great way to look at the legacy we have with Lego Batman.”
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled to release on May 29, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2.
